Ric Rac Cup Cozy Crochet Pattern

The Ric Rac Cup Cozy crochet pattern is finally released! I really like these cup cozies, as they are so functional and with these patterns, you can create something that is customized to your, your friends, and families.

I have many of these cup cozies in my home and all of my family members just love to use them for just about anything! Recently, I discovered that they can be used for the Ben & Jerry’s pint sized ice cream tubs, the little ice cream cups you get at the ice cream shop, and of course, hot and cold beverages.

It’s so great that your hands can be protected from uncomfortable temperatures and wetness!

I used 100% cotton yarn from Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran. You can use any worsted/medium/aran weight cotton yarn of your choice. I recommend 2 colors. Another great yarn to use for this is Dishie, from Knit Picks.

Techniques Used to Make This Pattern

This is worked just like a bottom-up beanie. We’ll make the “brim” first, working flat. We’ll then join the ends of the brim and then start working in the round from there. I make use of the Camel stitch (third loop half-double crochet) to create a break between sections of the pattern, so that the ric rac can stand out even more. The last part is the border! This is fast and easy to make project that is a super great gift for anyone.

I do recommend using 2 colors. A main color for the brim and border, a contrasting color for the ric rac. This will also help that ric rac stand out yet more.
